Sandy the Dog needs a home

Sandy, 7 months old, spayed female, 33 Lbs.

Meet Beautiful Sandy
Sandy was born with moderate nature. She is a little shy to meet strangers but very cuddly and gentle after a few minutes to warm up. When Sandy meets new dogs, she knows the manner to be mellow and friendly. Sandy is a lively puppy. She likes toys and playful with dogs she knows well. Sandy knows commends of sit and wait before getting food. She responds to recall and loves to follow you around.

Sandy and her siblings were abandoned at a crowded public shelter, jammed in a kennel when they were only 8 weeks young. Due to there were too many dogs fighting for limited food, poor Sandy and her siblings had no chance to get closer to the bowl. They were starving from time to time. One late night, a nurse just got off shift; she got on Facebook and spotted an SOS post of Sandy and her siblings. The image of the poor little, skinny puppies made her very sad. Without any rescue experience, she started to call everyone she knew to find a way to help these puppies. Unfortunately, most of rescuers got full hand of dogs. Instead giving up, the nurse went to the shelter, claimed the full litter of puppies out. Not surprised, all these pups had been starved for too long that must take quite much medical and nutritious care to help them became healthy. When AHAN got a call from a rescuer to help these puppies, we actually were impressed of the bravery of the angel nurse. She isn’t rich, but insisted to take all the pups to the best animal hospital for the best medical care. It took quite a while for Sandy to get full recovery. Under many people’s intensive care. Sandy turns into a beautiful, healthy puppy.

Sweet Sandy is the one who catches everyone’s eyes among all pups. Her shinning beautiful eyes tell you that she is a very mellow. Sandy likes snuggles and very affectionate after she gets to know you. Though she is a little shy to meet strangers in the beginning, but will not resist any cuddle. When she is with children, toys and treats help her to make friends easily. It may take a little while for her to become buddy with children, but she is very gentle without any meanbone in her. If a child insists to hug her, she accepts. Sandy is potty trained on a potty pad inside the house. If she stays long enough outdoors, she does potty as well. A lively, gentle and cuddly Sandy deserves a forever loving home. Please visit www.ahan.org to view more “Sandy’s” videos, click “APPLY” to fill out online application.
